Ask Developments and Trafford Council are working together to create a new and vibrant environment in Urmston Town Centre that meets the needs of people from the local area and spearheads further investment in Urmston as a whole.
Blending a mix of places to shop, work, relax and live the new shopping centre includes:
- A new Sainsbury’s supermarket
- New contemporary 20,000 sq ft library/contact centre
- 28 new modern shop units including up to five restaurant/café bars
- New decked public car park providing approximately 476 public spaces plus 144 dedicated spaces for the apartments
- 144 one and two bedroom high specification apartments
- High quality public open spaces
Unanimous detailed planning approval for the entire scheme was granted on 14 May 2007.

Progress News- The car park off Sumner Way that was temporarily reopened will close on 30th June 2008. Free car parking can still be found at the Golden Hill car park (100 spaces accessed from Moorside Road), Atkinson Road (25 spaces) and Manor Avenue (75 spaces).
- A residential marketing suite will soon be available on site where a full scale apartment can be viewed and reservations for the available remaining apartments can be made.
- Negotiations are underway with a number of retailers to take space within the scheme and announcements will be made in the near future when these are confirmed.

THE NEW SHOPPING CENTRE
The new shopping centre at Urmston is a mixed use scheme including shops, a supermarket, restaurants and cafes, modern town centre apartment living, a library and a Conservative Club. It has been designed as an open street and square which will integrate into the rest of the town centre – the design team chose deliberately not to create a separate shopping centre which would be closed off from the rest of the town at night.

SAINSBURY'S SUPERMARKET
Sainsbury’s has officially been named as the anchor store in the redevelopment of Urmston Shopping Centre. It is a medium sized supermarket and is limited to a maximum of 10% non food sales to make sure that it does not compete with other non food shops in the town.

TOWN CENTRE APARTMENTS
